REFLECTIONS from Open Table members and friends have come third in the FeedSpot 5 Best Queer Bible Podcasts ‘ranked by traffic, social media followers and freshness’.

Launched in August 2023, The This Is My Story podcast is an occasional series of short devotions, based around the Bible, the experiences of Open Table members, reflection and prayer.

Each episode takes the form of a ‘devotional’ - a short reflection by an Open Table member or supporter about a challenge they’ve faced and how they have dealt with it, or an ongoing challenge, and how they are learning to cope - with a related Bible reading and a short prayer. The aim is for Open Table members to listen and be inspired, know they’re not alone, and learn more about others in the network.

OTN trustee Roo Stewart, who curates the This Is My Story podcast, said:

‘The Open Table Network is a wonderfully diverse bunch, and there will be many who will be encouraged by your experience, or learn something new. I hope it will be a conduit to resource and inspire people to explore scripture and deepen their faith’.

Anuj Agarwal, founder of Feedspot, said:

‘This is the most comprehensive list of Queer Bible Podcasts on the internet and I'm honored to have you as part of this!’

Giving feedback on a recent podcast episode, Richard Bibby-Brooke from the Open Table Wirral community said:

I love these reflections, particularly how the stories are so different yet there is a common theme running through them.

Richard recorded his own episode in February 2024, which you can read or listen to here.

The podcast is hosted on Spotify, and is also available on Amazon Music, Castbox, PocketCasts and Radio Public.

Do you have a story to share?

  • Your reflection could be about any challege you have faced or are facing. It might include coping with illness, living with HIV, neurodiversity, ableism, racism, transitioning or family, as well as issues about homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, work, church - you name it!

  • You don’t need to be much of a writer - we can polish whatever you contribute, with your final approval. You can email us a draft or we can have a chat on the phone or on Zoom.

  • It would be great if you have a Bible verse or passage in mind that provides some focus, and can suggest a short prayer that will help the reader to bring their response to God.

  • You could either record your own reflection, or we can help to record it for you.

We aim to publish these monthly on OTN’s website and point to them on OTN’s social media and e-newsletter.

In July 2023, the OTN blog ranked third in the FeedSpot Top 15 Best Christian LGBTQ Blogs And Websites.
